We work with public and private landowners of hydro sites.

Landowners can have several levels of benefit, ranging from a rental on the site, a part investment in the site up to full investment and ownership of a site

An investment that works for you

A hydro scheme will typically be situated on land adjacent to a river weir. The landowner is very important for the success of a hydro scheme. The landowner – whether they be public, private or institutional - need to be on-side.

Benefits to Landowners

Landowners can benefit from different levels of financial involvement.

Rent

There will be a lease between the hydro owning company and the landowner for which a rent will be charged.

Part Investment

The landowner, in addition to a rental, may wish to part invest in the scheme.

Full ownership

The landowner may wish to fully own the hydro scheme and will therefore invest all of the money required for the development of the site and its capital cost.

Hints and Tips

Full ownership works best alongside a private wire so that hydro electricity offsets your existing purchase of electricity for maximum revenues and profitability.
Rural Diversification: helping you to harvest your water resource; we can design to be fully compatible with any fishing rights you lease out.
Local Authorities: You can invest in energy generation schemes for profit to the public purse. Concept to first revenues in 18 months – well inside a term of office, whilst showing good stewardship of the environment.
